Jim + Melissa were married on a beautiful beach in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico on June 1st. The day began with heavy rain that cleared up just in time for the ceremony. I guess what you would expect from a tropical wedding destination and you know what they say about rain…. “good luck.” Melissa’s daughter walked her down the isle and Jim’s dad was his best man. There was lots of laughter and some happy tears.   Trin + Cora looked beautiful in their turquoise and coral dresses… cora even joined the ceremony toward the end.  One little side note; I too was 18 months old when my parents were married 🙂  After the ceremony, we dined on the beach and celebrated with some dancing and cake.  BEST DAY EVER!

I first met Katie + Bradley on their wedding day. A few days prior I received an email from Katie.  Her photographer had a family emergency and wasn’t able to attend the wedding.  They were referred to me by a client so I decided to do what I could to help them out. It was one week away and I had no plans. Perfect!

I absolutely LOVE their “how we met” story.  When I arrived to the property on the wedding day I was greeted by the owners Dennis + Jerree.  They filled me in on all the details and couldn’t have been more excited to participate in their special day!

Katie + Bradley met at a garage sale.  They immediately noticed each other.  Katie spotted a treasure, Bradley helped negotiate and even offered to help her load it up in her car.  As a “thank you” she gave him her number and they’ve been inseparable ever since. Fast forward about 1 year. They went back to the same annual sale and asked the owners if they could get married on their property.  They totally remembered them from the year before and happily said YES!  What awesome people!

The weather in Portland had been very hot but fortunately lightened up for the day. There was about 50-60 close friends and family to celebrate. The property owners have a small u-pick raspberry farm and a really cute, man cave that we used as the backdrop for the ceremony. Following the ceremony the happy couple celebrated with friends in Estacada.

Perfect Day and I’m so happy I was able to be a part of it.

One of the coolest things happened a couple weeks ago while I was in Mexico.  I was checking my email and came across an inquiry from Erin.  She was interested in booking family pictures with her hubby and three cutie daughters.  She told me she found me on Instagram by using the HASHTAG #portlandfamilyphotography.  I guess I always use a handful of hashtags after posting pictures but never really thought it would lead cool families like this one to me.  Awww…. gotta love #hashtags.  And Erin for finding me!  Here’s a few previews from our fun evening at Mcmenamins Cornelius Pass Roadhouse.

Erin, thank you so much for including me in such a fun evening!

Love these! Such a great job of getting their personalities on film!ReplyCancel

These two lovebirds were married May 24th at Aarowhead Golf Course in Mollala, Oregon. The wedding was intimate with only family and close friends.  Brenda looked amazing in her David’s Bridal gown. After the ceremony everyone dined on delicious prime rib with even more delicious cupcakes to follow from The Fat Cupcake in Oregon City.  I’m so thrilled for this wonderful couple. They are SO HAPPY and beautiful inside and out…. if you couldn’t tell from these pictures! Enjoy!

Yesterday we ventured off to Sauvie Island for a little exploring and strawberry picking.  One of the farms we stopped at told us there was a cool nursery just down the road.  Cistus Nursery offers Mediterranean climate, southern hemisphere, hardy tropical plants, and more that grow in the Pacific Northwest.  Cutest place!  Doesn’t feel like Portland…. it reminds me of a nursery I know in Maui.  Love them both!

We started our day at Columbia Farms you pick… their farm was really cute >

Then stopped in Bella Organic to buy a flat of organic berries.  They were by far the BEST!
