I met Jess and her mom Kim a few months back at Starbucks and was blown away with all the DIY projects Jess was working on for the wedding. It definitely paid off because every detail was perfect at her beautiful wedding at the Abernethy Chapel in Oregon City. You could feel the intense love between Dan and Jess from the minute I saw them together… and especially after sharing in their celebration. They were both so happy and it really showed in their huge smiles…. so happy to have had the opportunity to meet them and take their wedding photos.

Last weekend my friends and I visited Haylift Gardens in Mosier, Oregon.  Haylift Gardens grows mostly organic heirloom tomatoes but also a delicious variety of other organic vegetables and fruits.  You will find their AMAZING tomatoes on the “Heirloom Pie” at Double Mountain Brewery in Hood River or you can visit the Mosier Farmers Market on Sundays from 4-7pm.

My obsession with tomatoes began as a child, visiting my Grandparents house in Cupertino, CA in the summers.  My grandpa loved to garden… and he grew the BIGGEST, most perfect tomatoes.  Sweet, juicy, and weighed the size of my age 7 head.  I would pick them off the vine, sprinkle them with salt and eat them just like an apple (all day long.)  This year I grew about 14 tomato plants ranging from chocolate cherries, sweet 100’s, and other various heirlooms.  I love to slice them up with cucumbers, make spicy/sweet salsa using the cherry tomatoes and my new 2013 summer fav is cottage cheese & tomato with salt and pepper.

So as you can probably understand, I was SO excited to visit this farm.  We incorporated a Willie Nelson concert and camped out at the farm, enjoyed Bloody Mary’s and a delicious breakfast in the morning, helped the owners, Bay and Mike harvest for the market that evening and Double Mountain, then made our way back to Portland.  Obviously, not without stopping at my favorite Hood River winery, Marchese Vineyards for a quick tasting.

This was a splendid weekend.

Saturday was the most beautiful Eugene day to celebrate Austin and Donna’s marriage. The reception took place at the pavilion down the road from the main winery. It was quiet, private and had the most amazing views of the vineyards and King Estate tasting room and barreling room. Great food, delicious cake (really, really delicious… I had two pieces), dancing and toasts. Austin, Donna and their little boy Alex are such a sweet family… I look forward to finishing up the editing and posting the pictures. In the mean time, here’s one of my favs that we shot before they were announced to their guests. Enjoy.

Kerry is one of my very best friends.  Last March I was flattered to be asked to photograph her wedding reception at the Columbia Gorge Hotel and ceremony at Mt. Tabor park in Portland.  The occasion was beautiful and packed with love, family and close friends.  Last week we got together to take a few maternity photos…. she’s 8 months pregnant and looking amazing!  Some of the pictures you couldn’t even tell she was pregnant.  I am so happy for my dear friend Kerry and can’t wait to meet my little niece next month.  xoxo
